TRUE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES

“A BABY STORY” WINS EMMY

Capturing the Special Class Series Award, the TLC Hit Show, Which Follows Parents and Families as They Prepare for One of the Most Important Moments in Their Life, Achieves Gold at Daytime Emmys

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The staff of True Entertainment were as proud as parents as the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored A Baby Story with the Outstanding Special Class Series award at Radio City Music Hall last night.

True Entertainment received the winged-statuette for A Baby Story’s sixth season. A Baby Story had been previously honored with an Emmy nomination in 2001.

A Baby Story, which airs every weekdays on TLC, is a half-hour documentary series which captures an array of parents during the last trimester of pregnancy. With heart and emotion, A Baby Story celebrates the miracle of birth and explores the hopes, dreams and fears of impending parenthood.

Throughout the show, cameras follow moms and dads-to-be on a variety of activities as they prepare for the baby from showers to cradle-shopping to painting the nursery. When the time comes, the Baby Story crew rushes to the hospital, birthing center or home, to capture the birth of the newest member of the Baby Story family. At the end of each episode, viewers watch as friends and family enjoy the newest member of the family at a special event or religious ceremony.

Daytime Emmy Awards were presented for performances and programs in 18 categories, including Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Game Show Host, Outstanding Talk Show, Outstanding Childrens’ Series and Best Drama Series.

The Academy honored the following Baby Story producers: Terri Johnson, executive producer; Neil A. Cohen, executive producer; Glenda Hersh, executive producer; Steven Weinstock, executive producer; Nikki Strome Taub, supervising producer; Aisha Wagle, coordinating producer; Lorri Leighton, producer; Liz Naylor, producer; Nikki Strome Taub, producer.

A Baby Story airs weekdays at 9 and 9:30 a.m.; 3 and 3:30 p.m. EST on TLC.
